We work the area inside about a ten-mile ring: San Juan Capistrano three miles up the road, Capistrano Beach two miles southeast, Ladera Ranch and Laguna Beach around six, Laguna Hills and Rancho Mission Viejo at eight, Las Flores the same, and out to Laguna Woods and Coto de Caza at ten. Trabuco Canyon and Silverado are far enough out that we treat those calls case by case rather than promise a same-day window.
If you're not sure whether your address falls inside that range, call and ask. It's faster than guessing off a map, and it saves you a wasted trip if we can't get to you the same day.
Work We Turn Down
Most of the doors we see went up somewhere between 1938 and 2015, with a lot of the stock in this area dating to the 1980s and 90s across the ten neighborhoods we work most. That means a wide spread of hardware - older extension-spring setups on the early houses, torsion springs and steel sectional doors on the 80s and 90s builds, and newer insulated doors on anything built in the last decade or so.
What we don't do: we won't sell you a full door replacement when a spring swap or a bent-panel repair solves it just as well, and we won't quote a repair over the phone sight-unseen if the damage sounds like it goes past the door itself - a warped frame, water damage to the header, that kind of thing needs eyes on it first. We also don't stock parts for every obsolete opener model still bolted to a ceiling from decades back; if yours is one of those, expect a lead time on the part, not a same-day fix.
The mild coastal climate here means we're not fighting the freeze-thaw cracking or heavy snow load that wears out doors faster inland. That actually works against urgency in one sense - a door here can limp along longer than it should before someone finally calls, and by then a ten-minute repair has turned into a full spring-and-cable job.
