Questions Homeowners Ask Before They Call

Local garage door repair based at 34118 Pacific Coast Hwy in Dana Point, CA. Here's how to reach us, what we work on, and who shows up at your door.

Do you serve my area if I'm not right in Dana Point?

Yes, within reason. We cover San Juan Capistrano, Ladera Ranch, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Rancho Mission Viejo, Las Flores, Laguna Woods, Coto de Caza, Trabuco Canyon, Silverado, Capistrano Beach, and Rancho San Clemente. If you're further out, like past Trabuco Canyon, call first to check same-day availability before assuming we can get there.

My house was built in the 1980s - is that a problem for parts?

Usually not. A lot of homes in this area were built in that same window, so we're familiar with the torsion and extension spring setups from that era. It's older homes from further back, closer to 1938, where hardware can occasionally be obsolete enough to need a special order.

Does the coastal weather here affect garage doors much?

Less than you'd think compared to areas with big temperature swings. The mild climate here means we don't see much cracking or warping from heat and cold cycling. Most of the wear we find is just age - springs losing tension, rollers wearing down, openers reaching the end of their run.

Can I get a quote before you come out?

We can give you a rough sense over the phone once you describe the problem, but a firm number usually needs eyes on the door. Springs, cables, and openers all price differently, and we'd rather quote accurately in person than guess low and surprise you later.

Do you work on commercial garage doors?

No, we stick to residential doors - springs, openers, tracks, panels, rollers, and cables on houses. If you call about a commercial roll-up or gate system, we'll tell you that's outside what we handle rather than send a truck out for nothing.

Contacting Us

The fastest way to reach us is by phone at (949) 882-9898. We're based at 34118 Pacific Coast Hwy, Dana Point, CA 92629, which puts us close to San Juan Capistrano (3 mi), Capistrano Beach (2 mi SE), and Laguna Beach (6 mi). If you're calling about a spring that's snapped or a door stuck halfway up, say so up front - that changes how we schedule the day.

We don't run a contact form on this page because most garage door problems are easier to describe out loud than type out. A photo helps too, if you can text one after the call. Tell us the door's rough age if you know it, whether it's a torsion or extension spring setup, and what the opener does or doesn't do when you hit the button. That's usually enough for us to bring the right parts the first time instead of a second trip.

If you're outside our immediate radius - say out past Trabuco Canyon or Silverado - call first and ask, since travel time affects when we can get there the same day.

Work We Turn Down

We work on residential garage doors: springs, openers, tracks, panels, rollers, cables, and full door replacement. We don't do commercial roll-up doors or gate systems, and we're upfront about that on the phone so you're not waiting on a truck that isn't coming.

We also won't tell you to replace a door that just needs a spring and a tune-up. A lot of the housing stock in this area dates back to the 1980s and 90s, with some homes going back to 1938 and newer builds up through 2015. On the older end of that range, doors sometimes have hardware that's dated but still serviceable - worn rollers, a stretched cable, a spring at the end of its cycle count. Replacing the whole door when a repair would hold up for years isn't a job we take, even though it pays better.

One limit worth naming: if a part is obsolete enough that it has to be special-ordered, we'll tell you the wait instead of guessing. We'd rather give you an honest timeline than a door that sits half-fixed in the meantime.

Who Turns Up

Someone from the shop comes out with a truck stocked for the kind of repairs this area actually needs. Given the mild coastal climate here, we don't see the wide temperature swings that crack seals or warp panels the way inland areas do - most of what we deal with is ordinary wear: spring fatigue, worn rollers, opener boards that finally give out after years of daily use.

We work throughout the surrounding area, including San Juan Capistrano, Ladera Ranch, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Rancho Mission Viejo, Las Flores, Laguna Woods, Coto de Caza, Trabuco Canyon, Silverado, Capistrano Beach, and Rancho San Clemente. If your address falls near the edge of that range, mention it when you call so we can tell you straight whether it's a same-day fit.

We don't send a salesperson before a technician - the person who shows up is the one doing the repair, and they'll walk you through what's wrong and what it costs before starting anything.
